John G. Oglesby's career is documented with numerous correspondence especially with Samuel Insull, Angus F. Hubbard and David Shananhan during WWI. Many other political names of the time. Other subjects covered are Spanish-American War, the direct primary law, Cherry Mine Disaster, volunteer training corps, East St. Louis riot of 1917, farm debt adjustment, National Recovery League and the reserve militia. The political campaigns of 1920, 1928, 1930 are well documented. Scrapbooks include material on political issues, campaigns, events in his career and life and family news, including a scrapbook on his sister, Countess Emma Oglesby Cenci.
